OUR COMMITMENT

We recognise the importance of the correct and lawful processing of personal data in maintaining full confidence in our business operation. We commit to process your data carefully, fairly and in full compliance with the legislation. We comply with the UK Data Protection Act and equivalent country-specific legislation where appropriate, whenever we process personal data.

Your personal data belongs to you, and you have certain rights in respect of the personal data about you that we are processing. We respect your rights and commit to carrying out any request that you make as is required under the legislation. If we have made an error, we will do all we can to correct things as quickly as possible.

OUR ROLE UNDER THE UK DATA PROTECTION ACT AND GDPR

We operate as both ‘Data Processor’ and ‘Data Controller’ in different scenarios.

Our role as a Data Processor:

Our business is the supply of marketing services to other organisations who wish to promote their products and services. The organisation that is employing us to carry out the marketing services is the Data Controller and we are the Data Processor. We have a shared responsibility with the Data Controller to process your data correctly and lawfully. The Data Controller is responsible for establishing the lawful basis for processing your data and, together with us, for the compliant processing of your data.

Our role as a Data Controller:

We use your data for marketing our own services and for our business development, quality and training purposes.

WHERE WE GET YOUR DATA FROM

Our role as a Data Processor:

Personal data is provided to us by the Data Controller. Typically, the Data Controller has collected your data when you have interacted with them. For example, to enquire about their products and services, attended an event, or if you are a customer. Your data might also have been acquired by the Data Controller from a ‘data broker’ who has collected your data and established a legal basis for processing the data.

You should refer to the Privacy Statement of the Data Controller to understand how your data was collected by them.

Our role as a Data Controller:

We collect your personal data when you contact us directly or provide your details via our website or at an event. When any contact with you is made by telephone, we may record the call which could contain personal data.

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

We use your data to contact you about the applicable Data Controller’s products and services that are believed could be of interest to you. We might contact you to fulfil a request you have made with the Data Controller. Typically, we make contact by telephone, email, via social media, and by post.

We take care not to contact you by telephone where your details are supplied to us by an external preference service, where this exists in the country you are in, except where you have already been in contact by telephone and have not opted-out of contact by telephone.

B2B business development is a legitimate interest, and we may contact you by email on this legal basis, except where you have opted-out of this with the Data Controller. We will only send general marketing emails to you where you have consented to this with the Data Controller.

We will not contact you by post where you have asked the applicable Data Controller not to do so.

Telephone recordings are used only for the purpose of staff training and quality control.

Where we are the Data Processor, you should also refer to the Privacy Statement of the applicable Data Controller to understand how your data is used.

HOW WE SHARE AND PROTECT YOUR DATA

We share your data with other organisations that we use to process your data. Typically, this might be ‘cloud based’ software and data storage providers or postal fulfilment suppliers. Such processing will be for specific limited purposes and in compliance with a ‘Data Processing Contract’. We do not sell your data to any other organisation.

We take all reasonable measures to secure your personal data while it is being processed by us. We’ve opted to participate in the ‘UK Cyber Essentials’ security standard to demonstrate our commitment to the security of personal data and certify that our measures are appropriate and adequate.

You may submit your data to us via a Contact Us form, webchat window, or content download on our website which is processed as described in this Privacy Policy.

In addition, our website uses cookies which allow us to track the user traffic to, and the usage of, the website. We use this information at an aggregated level only and do not link this information to any personal profile. Please see our Cookie Policy for further information.

YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to rectify inaccurate data; to object to or request restrictions of processing; to request an electronic copy of the data that is held about you; to request that your data is erased.

If you wish to make a request in respect of your rights, in the first instance you should contact the applicable Data Controller who is responsible for managing your request.

To contact us in respect of your rights, please email us and we will normally respond within two working days. Please contact us at: dpo@thecallbusiness.com
